This crater, as I see it, is at least 3 times brighter than any other feature the Moon. It is blinding. It almost looks as if it is artificially lit up.
I'm trying to rationalize the brightness, the only explanation I can think of is high-concentration of water ice catching the Sun.
The NASA images of Aristarchus seem to be "darkened" to make this less obvious. And, in every colour amateur picture I see the crater has definite blue tones.
Any thoughts on this, or what could be possibly going on up there?
Thanks

Aristarchus is a nuclear reactor of some type, probably fusion. The blue glow is the radiation coming into contact with molecules of air the same blue glow that appears in water. Close inspection of this photograph indicates arched roadways, lighted tunnels into which the roadways go and buildings. Notice the graceful architecture of the structure containing the reactor.

Mr. Lear
Could we just step back for a second and consider the idea that something hit the Moon, embedded itself under and is still glowing today?
Just a thought. _________________ Found the "Smokin Gun"?..No, but I got it's bullet in the brain! |

Possible. The first reports of the blue glow were back in the 1600's so it's been glowing a long time. Safe to say it's not a candle. |

I retract my question and plead ignorance.
Just started to read your thoughts on the living moon website... Fascinated

Honestly. It's less than three meters across, sitting in a park.
Something like a permanent hot lava bed, but blue, and lots of smoke rising [somehow]. Notice the picnic area at the top of the photo, with long tables and people standing around.
In the lower photo, which is a copy of the same photo shown in this thread ABOVE, you see two human forms, one standing next to the fire with a baby, and one walking on a plank over the fire. They're probably going to sacrifice the baby; that's what they do, sacrifice to the Snake Gods.
