I'm new to all this so sorry if this one has been posted before. And magnified: 
1 pixel = 1 kilometer 768x768 Latitude: 2 Longitude: 314 on the magnified picture could the first white thing to the left of the small square shape be a human being? Maybe in some sort of space suit? Or is it far to large for that? |

No, no, no, you are going to be AMAZED! I've had this picture for ten years and I thought that square thing was a big deal. Wrong!
Okay, I'll tell you what it is, and then I'll show you. This is one of at least two rectangular buildings. What you are looking at is a grooved metal roof, and that square thing is some kind of electrical box. NOW. Look down at the bottom of this picture. Well, well, well. There's a guy in camo dress with a mask on, climbing onto the roof. A lady with her toddler is talking to a guy with a big head in the path between the two buildings, and two small skinny "helpers" on the left, trying to carry some stuff into the front door. People. Probably not human. Chai

No Iīm almost sorry to say, but you are right Cloud! The one pixel pr. kilometer. means that over 1000 people could be lined in one pixel. And if we are talking about a square-kilometer: 1000 x 1000 people in a squarepixel. So it canīt be a regular spaceman!
It is one of the most important features (size-recognizion) to get hold on in a picture before starting analysing it.

It's very simple.
Since NASA lies about everything else, I don't believe their pixel gauges either. Just look at the bottom edge of what I derived from the original, and then you can come to your own conclusions. Chai |

Well Nasa seems to lie about everything don't they? Chaiyah, what is your speculation as to the scale of the photo's above then? Also what is at the bottom edge that convinced you that the scale is out of proportion by a factor of 1000? |

I DON'T CARE what the scale is. I see people, in shape, form and function. See if this helps, an enlargement, with outlines provided. Can you see the line formed by the metal roof, which has "tucks" in it? Can you see the man climbing on the roof? Can you see the two little helpers trying to get stuff in the door? Those are the easy ones. The lady with her child and the officer standing in the door are less distinct. But have at it. Honest, I didn't make this up; I just lightened it and colored it; and this is what came out. Chai

Ah, ok, thanks for clarifying that for me Chaiyah. Actually I kinda need that scale thing to tell me how to look at the picture because it provides a vastly different image in my mind as to what I am looking at depending on the scale.
For me it was (and still is really) hard for me to not look at that photo at a fairly large scale, but when I force myself to see at the scale you see (the picture way above is about 60 feet wide or so), then I start to see things in the picture I didn't (or couldn't) see before. So thanks for that new perspective. As an example of different perspectives at different scales, take a look at this blow up from the lower left portion of the highlighted area of the picture above: 
At one perspective you can see the left side image of a mostly bald man who looks like "Garek" of Star Trek Deep Space Nine fame, peering around a corner... From another scale, at the bottom of this blow up in whites, you can clearly see an entrance to a transport tunnel tube of sorts with what looks like some kind of monorail system coming out of the end and "y-ing" out and splitting in two to go off in different directions... I can see all kinds of anomolies in the photo depending on what scale it is, so that is why I am always nagging on picture scale. I just think it is important to determine the proper scale so that the speculation can go wild in the right "ball park"... Even if the scale is totally unbelievable with Nasa's reported scale, there are sometimes still factors of the photo that can give one an idea as to an approximate ball park scale, so when I see all those "pock marks" around the photo, I can't help to wonder if some of those "holes" are not relatively fairly large? Where you may see them as only about 1 foot across, I can't help but to see them at about a few miles across... Perspectives are interesting aren't they? |
