something I saw as a kidWhen I was a kid, back in the 1950s, I was with my cub scout troupe
(my closest brush with Freemasonry) one evening riding in a car driven by
our group leader. We were on our way to visit a radio station on a field trip.
As we rode along I looked up at the full moon and saw something very odd.
There was a portion of a black ring clearly visible in the upper left quadrant
of the moon that looked something like this:
I pointed it out to the others and they all saw it including our adult scout
"den mother." None of us could figure out what it was. There was nothing
obstructing our view and no known, terrestrial object between us and the
moon. Whatever it was seemed to be on or very near the moon itself.
In John's recent "Tells All" interview he mentioned that he believed there
was a reactor in that general part of the moon. That reminded me of this
sighting and I wonder if it could have had anything to do with what we saw
that night.

| Quote: | OUR HYPOTHESIS: The Moon is an artificial Earth satellite put into orbit around the Earth by some intelligent beings unknown to ourselves.
We refuse to engage in speculation about who exactly staged this unique experiment, which only a highly developed civilisation was capable of.

| Quote: | WAITING FOR THE EVIDENCE
We have put forward in this article only a few of the reasons, unfortunately the evidence is so far only circumstantial, for our hypothesis, which at first glance may appear to be crazy.
A similar "crazy" idea was put forward in 1959 by Professor Iosif Shklovsky, an eminent scientist, in relation to the "moons" circling around Mars. After carefully weighing up the evidence he concludes that they are both hollow and therefore artificial satellites.
We feel that the questions we have raised in connection with our Moon provide sufficient food for serious thought on the matter; the result may be the illumination of our many lunar riddles.
Now, of course, we have to wait for direct evidence to support our idea. Or refute it.
Probably there will not be long to wait.

Just to elaborate on their mentioning of this not exactly being a new idea in this solar system:
| Quote: | In 1959 Shklovsky examined the orbital motion of Mars's inner satellite Phobos. He concluded that its orbit was decaying and noted that, if this was attributed to friction with the Martian atmosphere, then the satellite must have an exceptionally low density. In this context he voiced a suggestion that it might be hollow and possibly of artificial origin.

Correct me if I'm wrong John, but I think I recall you mentioning the idea of the moon being artificial as well. Doesn't the ground get extremely hard, if not impenetrable, fairly close to the surface?

Cloud, does your post above have something to do with this thread?
If it does, I don't get it.

Sorry, if the moon is artificial then that would go a long way to explaining a dark ring on the surface. I've never heard of any natural phenomena like that.
