Amateur Astronomy?Didn't know where to post this but I'm interested in getting into sky watching. I'm not rich but can anyone recommend a telescope or two/ideal magnification in relation to price point, etc. It looks like I can afford a 10" or 11" Compound and I like these for their compact size and features (Celestron, Meade, etc?). Are large refractors a better buy at half the price or less (Pentax, Sky Watcher, etc?)? Would something like this be enough to get a really good look at the Moon, Mars and beyond? What do you think of CCD cameras or would you suggest a good digital SLR with adaptive hardware instead? Thanks for any input or suggestions on the matter in general.
Regards, DSA

I am a beginner astronomer myself however I came across a website from fellow who seems to have it all together. Im sure that he could steer you in the right direction. I was amazed at his astrophotograhy. Check out his website with his photos and equipment at:

I hope this helps you out to get started.
In fact, I suggest that everyone check out his work on lunar photographs and of the planets. His work would be an asset to supply lunar photographs for reveiw on this forum.
