The Golden Visors in the Space Helmets, must they be down all the time when walking on the Moon or in Space to guard against the Sun's rays  Question

None of the Apollo astronauts walked on the Moon. So it didn't matter whether or not the visor was up or down.

However if they HAD walked on the Moon they wouldn't have needed a visor as the atmopshere there filters any of the sun's harmful rays.

Oh, by the way, the daytime sky color on the moon is saffron, a yellowish color, similar to this:

John, sounds as if you're getting to the bottom of things.

:smirk:

Good going!

Now if I can just figure out what is happening when I colorize these photos.

Things get kinda strange!

Can you enlighten me on this somewhat?

:yikes!:

I know absolutely nothing about colorizing and filtering. I leave all that to Zorgon and Graham72.

Eventually though we will hit on a combination that will allow us to see exactly what has been air brushed on the Lunar Orbiter and other NASA photos.

Thanks for the input Mr. Lear

I was only asking because yesterday I was looking at the Apollo 17 photo's and Schmidt had his visor up a few times whilst on the Moon, I thought the glaring Sun would have boiled his eyes out...  Rolling Eyes

btw....

This picture is from a thread on ATS...

From the Apollo 17 mission, it seems that NASA thought this one picture was ruined by over exposure as to be totally black, they left it on a Gallery website and one person got lucky by working onthat "black" still photo, guess what came up.... A Pyramid!

Possible.

But what I think is that the pyramid photo was a detour placed by NASA.

What they would like us to believe is "Yes, there was an ancient civilization but it is no longer there."

When looking at just that picture and playing with the contrast, brightness, etc, you can bring that "pyramid" shape to view, no problem. I too thought this was a fascinating picture, until I "seen" the roll of film and each successive numbered picture that was taken from that roll. If you look at each numbered negative in order, you will see that they are taking pictures of the craft's equipment, etc. I think by looking at those pictures in that context, one must determine that the over-exposed "pyramid" is simply this same equipment.

Someone does mention that in that ATS thread that talks about the alleged pyramid, and I think it does make logical sense when looking at each successive numbered picture from that roll.

Wouldn't it seem weird that they were taking multiple pictures of their equipment and then ONE shot of a pyramid aways away on the lunar surface, just to go back to taking more pictures of their equipment?

When you look at the other shots of the equipment on that roll, you can see where that "pyramid" shape can be seen on the pictures of equipment before the pyramid shot.

So if it really is a pyramid, one must then question why did they only take one shot of the pyramid before they went back to taking photos of their equipment? Was the equipment that much more fascinating then an ancient structured pyramid on the moon?

If I was up there, I would have at least taken one extra shot of the pyramid, just in case the first one was over/under exposed. Rather they take more shots of their equipment instead.

One shot of a pyramid in the midst of equipment pictures ...   Hmm

Here's what I got false coloring it.  I suspend judgment then.

I think this is actually a Rorschach test, right?

What it looks like to me is a building on the right, the pyramid with clouds above it and then, trees in full leaf, on the left.

Abstract art, right?
